Ah rain gear. Yes, marvelous stuff, it's true. And it's funny what one considers "full rain gear" at different times... it starts off as a jacket, and then after a real soaking or two you decide the pants are a necessity. Then there's the booties and the gloves and the helmet cover... of those, it's the gloves I've found most important, at least if it's at all a cold rain. The helmet cover can be cheaply improvised from a shower cap, though! When getting rain pants: don't buy the cheap ones at MEC. They don't breathe at all and might be good for sitting at Folk Fest, but move around at all and they're quickly coated on the inside with persiration and condensation. I have the ones made of the same fabric as Kathy's jacket and they're fantastic. Huge vents, good wicking, reflective straps, and a tapered ankle which doesn't require ankle chickens.
